Do you sleep with your smartphone or tablet by your bedside? Do you check your email, Facebook page or Instagram the moment you wake up? Do you eat while you are working at your desk? Do your family members implore you to look up from your phone?

You might need a digital detox.

Constant use of email, social media and constant news feeds can be damaging to one’s health, according to several recent studies. Internet addiction disorder is now a recognised problem. Indeed, when frequent internet users turn off their devices, they undergo withdrawal symptoms similar to those experienced by drug users, according to a 2013 study at Swansea and Milan Universities.

But what if you simply can’t muster the personal willpower to take even a day or two away from your screens? You’re not alone — and plenty of businesses are looking to capitalise on your digital dependence. Caroline offers healthy lifestyle and digitale detox courses to weekends seminars and workshops etc.

During her retreats, she treats each moment as an opportunity to (re)connect. She utilizes the following to enhance our connections while taking the Digital Detox:

  • Analog Art
  • Conscious & Healthy Eating
  • Meditation
  • Mindfulness
  • Reflection

Life is more than business. Enjoy your life for more quality time.

How safe is your food? Phthalates are a toxic ingredient found in foods, perfumes, nail polish and many other unexpected places.

Phthalates have been linked to a wide array of health problems, including endocrine disruption (both developmental and reproductive toxicity), as well as childhood asthma. According to Women’s Voices for the Earth’s “What’s That Smell” report, phthalate exposure in males has been linked to lower sperm counts and altered sperm quality, and in females, exposure can affect thyroid levels and alter thyroid function. Many foods are actually encased in plastic, from cereals to cracker pouches. Try and eat less food packaged in plastics. These chemicals are not tightly bound to the other molecules in the plastic, they often “migrate,” moving from the plastic and finding their way into our bodies. Detoxification is one of the best holistic ways to keep your mind and body healthy, from easing unexplained headaches or back pain to aiding memory loss, strengthening brittle nails and hair, defending your body against allergic reactions, and flushing dangerous chemicals and drugs out of your system.
